My Journey to Photography
As a child, I loved art and science. Exploring in my backyard or creating a masterpiece, I became engulfed with joy in the moment. Photography feeds this love, as a delicate balance of art and science. When my second son was born, I decided to learn more about photography, to help me capture all the important but fleeting moments. I fell in love with photography and spent my spare time learning all about it. I realized that photography changed me. I started to see light and composition all around me. Photography made me slow down, and appreciate God’s great beauty, from my child's eyes to a Kansas sunset.
I now have three boys who have been great practice for me. As I captured their lives in photographs, family and friends took notice, and began to ask for my help in capturing their special moments. I love giving people this gift of preserving their moments in a beautiful way. The importance of these moments cannot be measured. I hope to recall these special moments, reliving them again as I look back on my own family photographs, sharing them with my grandchildren.
As a mom to three active boys, I have developed a knack for photographing children. I understand the stress of getting the whole family ready for pictures. I hope to help this process be as painless as possible, so you can just show up ready to love each other, and let your kids be kids. I will work to make the process a little fun, and capture you in a beautiful way. As a mom, I’ve seen it all; not much surprises me anymore. I have dealt with spit-up, tantrums, and bad moods. This experience helps me to remain calm, ready to capture the next special moment.
